It’s been a couple of months since my last update. Since then I had the intention of putting up a few posts, but, they were mainly revolving around the market. Because I don’t want this blog to be a “finance market” blog, I put them on hold.
Since nothing else was going on elsewhere in my life, there was really nothing to pen down (or write up, whatever).
I have however managed to finish a couple of books, all pretty interesting – to my taste – but I’m not going to try and review them here. Not that I haven’t tried, but it seems that when I attempt a review, words flow in my head, but not just through my fingers and onto my laptop screen. So sad. If you want to check out my reads, have a look here. Some notable ones here which I would highly recommend for you to read are:
- The Uninhabitable Earth – David Wallace Wells
- Poor Economics – Esther Duflo & Abhijit Banerjee
- And The Weak Suffer What They Must? – Yanis Varoufakis
I would totally stay away from the Warren Buffet book. It was pretty much a basic level book written by someone who seemed to really want to ride on Buffet’s coattail. You’d be better off reading The Intelligent Investor by Graham.
I’m currently half-way through Naomi Klein’s “No Is Not Enough” and I’m taking it easy on this one, because it is quite rage inducing (but in any case, I’m a slow reader, so this could just be my excuse, haha).
Til next time then.
