These past few days, I’ve been pretty worked up, well, more than usual. Partly due to my fault of procrastinating and totally abandoning my studies for the entire semester, and fully regretting it now as I try to cram two textbooks’ worth of information into my thick skull.
For the most part though, I’m angry about the kind of shit that has happened in the world recently. The first, would be the hold up of hostages in a Sydney chocolate cafe by a mad Iranian man. The second, would be the massacre of schoolkids by Pakistani Taliban in Peshawar, Pakistan.
Both occurrences ended with deaths of innocent civilians. I can’t recall how many, but surely, a death of an innocent is one death too many. Sadly though, despite constant distraction from my efforts to study, I haven’t been able to catch up on the news regarding both events.
What were their motivations? I don’t pretend to know, but I’m pretty sure, that whatever it was, you can’t use it to justify those murders.
How did humanity get to this point?
My heart goes out to those people who lost loved ones, and to those who died unnecessarily in the name of a madman’s ideology.
